Youth Understanding Politics is an international youth exchange funded by the Youth in Action Programme of the European Commission and several US Embassies. YUP is gathering 36 youngsters in the age of 15 to 18 originating from Belgium, Germany, Moldova, Ukraine, Romania and Slovenia in the town of Brussels from 2nd to 12th August 2010.
The youth exchange aims on shaping its participants to more politically and socially active citizens. Therefore the exchange contains training sessions on · Debate – the one tool teaching how to settle arguments peacefully and how to fairly negotiate compromises · European Union – the unique political system unifying 27 member states while respecting their sovereignty · Active Citizenship – as we have the capability to change and improve our society and institutions as long as we make our voices being heard.
Youth Understanding Politics is a youth lead and organized project. All project leaders aged between 18 and 20 years are working voluntary and on non-profit bases for the project. |
