The European movement in Belgium, after a year with very much European news, and a successful Belgian Presidency, looked back, as well as forward, with Ambassador Willem van de Voorde, working at Belgium's Permanent Representation to the European Union.
He was one of the driving forces who, in cooperation with task forces in the various government departments and the Federal Public Service Foreign Affairs itself, steered the Presidency in the right direction.

Ambassador van de Voorde not only shed light on all that, but also looked ahead, to the upcoming legislature of the new European Commission Von der Leyen II, the role of our former BUZA minister Hadja Lahbib as the new Commissioner for ‘Equality, Preparedness and Crisis Management’, the reports on the European economy Letta and Draghi...

The event took place on 11 December at 18.00 at the EMB Office (Tweekerkenstraat 14, 1000 Brussels). Participants had the opportunity to ask questions in French, Dutch or English.
